Expert AuPair handles qualified pre-matches nationwide. We can
handle interviews in almost every country, worldwide. If you have any
questions about whether we can handle your pre-match contact us
here.
What is a pre-match?
A pre-match is a family and au pair who have found each other through
an external matching source, or advertisement and would like to proceed through
the Expert AuPair program together.
How much does it cost to bring in a pre-match?
The au pair must still be paid, and we do still have the same expenses. However, we offer a $500 discount for pre-matched families and au pairs.
How does pre-matching work?
All au pairs and families participating in our program must go through
the same rigorous pre-screening process. You will both need to complete
all of the steps involved in our program (including writing a letter to each
other and providing pictures).
We are very strict about the English requirements for pre-matches and are wary
of previous visa denials and other flags which may make the au pair ineligible
for our program, or unlikely to obtain a J-1 visa.
The au pair must be between 18 and 26 years old, be proficient
in spoken English, and have the equivalent of a US High School
diploma (contact us for more details). Please familiarize yourself
with the
qualification requirements for
au pair applicants.
The host family must have an extra private room in their home. The
host parents must both speak fluent English and be either US citizens
or legal permanent residents of the US. Please familiarize yourself with
the
qualification requirements for
family applicants.
Can I still get a replacement au pair if my pre-match doesn't work?
The same refund and replacement policies apply as they do with any
match. These are outlined in your contract.
How do I begin the pre-match process?
Both the host family and the au pair must fill out an application to
start the process. You must, also, contact our corporate offices to declare
your pre-match status, so that we know to pull both of your applications from
the regular application pool.
