Expert AuPair uses the internet to solicit business, and to allow families and
au pairs the opportunity to apply for and learn about the au pair programs
offered by Expert AuPair. Information shared voluntarily online is protected in
accordance with Federal and State laws and the policies detailed below.
This policy is effective May 25, 2007 and may be changed at any time by Expert
AuPair. If this policy is changed, the new policy will be posted online and the
effective date will be changed.
Consent
By using Expert AuPair’s site, you consent to the terms stated in this policy.
What information does Expert AuPair collect?
Expert AuPair collects information online and through other forms of
communication such as fax, telephone and mail. Expert AuPair collects the
following and other information, which collectively are described hereafter as
"information collected". We collect this information because it is required for
us to administer a J-1 exchange visitor as described by Federal Law in 22 CFR
62. All information is retained for at least three years, but not more than
five years. Original documents submitted can not be returned.
1. We collect a large amount of information about prospective au pairs. All
information is provided online or in forms by prospective au pairs and includes
but is not limited to full name, date of birth, citizenship and passport
information, address, email address, telephone number, academic history,
disciplinary records (including police records), employment history, and
medical history.
2. We keep results of psychometric testing conducted on prospective au pairs,
and our representative's assessment of English proficiency.
3. We keep information about emergency contacts of prospective au pairs and
prospective host families, including full name, address, email address and
telephone numbers.
4. We keep information about prospective host families, including full names,
dates of birth, citizenship and residence information, address, contact
information, employment and earnings history. We keep evidence of employment
and/or assets. We also keep information about the age of their children and any
special needs that are declared by the host family. We keep information about
our assessment of the suitability of their home for accommodating an au pair.
5. We keep information from references about prospective au pairs and families.
These may include but are not limited to employment references.
6. We keep all information provided by mail, fax or phone which includes, but is
not limited to, copies of diplomas, transcripts and other academic records.
Mailings using information collected
If you give us your information online, we may call you, email you or write to
you given the contact method(s) you provided. This authorization applies to any
branch of Expert Group International, Inc. (EGI), and to any company that is at
least 51% controlled by EGI. We may give you information on programs other than
the one to which you applied or are thinking of applying to. We occasionally
will buy lists of names and contact information, or will assemble such lists by
using public information including but not limited to information posted on the
internet, and may use these lists to contact people.

Cookies and Similar Files
We never use cookies or similar files to track your use of other web sites. We
place cookies on your hard drive for security purposes and to facilitate site
navigation. Our cookies do not identify you as an individual.
If you do not accept cookies or similar file, your on-line activity will be
disrupted and it will be impossible for you to order products on-line.
Information security
Information is collected from users on a secure site. Expert AuPair's database
is password protected and all employees who are given access are trained on
proper use of the database. Only Expert AuPair employees and representatives
are permitted to access the data. Only Expert AuPair employees and
representatives are authorized to access paper records, including fax
transmissions.
What information does Expert AuPair not collect?
Expert AuPair does not keep your credit card information on file unless you
submit it by mail or telephone.
Will Expert AuPair share information it collects?
Information collected is collected for the purpose of helping ensure compliance
with State Department regulations, at 22 CFR 62. You can not opt out of our
information sharing which is required by federal law.
Expert AuPair will release information collected to a third party only in the
following circumstances:
1. We may release all information about a prospective au pair or a prospective
family that has expressed interest in matching with that au pair to our
overseas representatives, local representatives and regional representatives.
2. We report information about au pairs in the Student and Exchange Visitor
Information System (SEVIS). We report at least as much information as is needed
to comply with Federal Law. Examples of items we report are: personal
information, arrival information, whether or not the au pair attended
orientation in Orlando and started their placement with the host family, the
termination of an employment contract, and violations of J-1 status.
3. We report information to the Department of State as required by Federal Law
and by our designation application. Examples of items we report include crimes
of moral turpitude. We submit an annual report to the Department of State
including the following information:

Summary of au pair Year End Survey results

Summary of host family Year End Survey results

Summary of grievances filed in year compiled on Complaint Summary Form

Summary of situations that resulted in transfer

A list of au pairs, host families, addresses, and names of Local and Regional
Representatives
4. We will comply with a lawfully issued subpoena or judicial order; we may also
disclose information if we have reason to believe that this release is
necessary to comply with the law.
5. We will release medical records of an au pair to medical professionals if we
reasonably believe that such information is essential for medical treatment of
the au pair, provided such a release complies with relevant Federal and State
laws.
6. We may release your name and billing address to a third party credit card
accepting agency, who will securely accept any credit card payments.
7. We may provide information about successful transactions to third parties, to
enable them to gauge the effectiveness of our advertising.
Marketing to children under 13
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act protects children under the age of
13 from the online collection of personal information. We do not knowingly
market to or solicit information from children under 13. While we collect
information about a host family's children from the host family, all marketing
is aimed at adult members of the household. The minimum age to participate as
an au pair in the Expert AuPair program is 18.
Linking to other sites
We may provide links to other websites, including but not limited to
CybersourceTM and BoldChatTM. We are not responsible for the privacy or
security of these sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or suitability
of their information. If you are asked to provide information to another site,
you should read their privacy policy before consenting.
Adware
If advertisements "pop up" on your screen while you are visiting our site, your
computer may have been infected with adware. Expert AuPair does not use adware,
but may use pop ups to display terms and conditions of service.
